Synergics is a developer, consultant, owner, and operator of hydroelectric power facilities. Founded in 1980, Synergics has been involved in the design, development, construction, financing, and operation of over 90 energy projects. Size of the plants have ranged from 500 KW to 400 MW.

Experience in the United States consists of projects in 10 states and internationally in 13 foreign countries. In addition to its owned and operated facilities, clients of the firm have included governments, utilities, private sector developers and financial institutions.

Accomplishments

Synergics has received recognition of awards for its pioneering accomplishment in the hydropower field:

  • First U.S. federal approval (FERC) of the transfer of a municipal hydropower license to a private entity (Synergics) in 1983 for the Great Falls Hydropower facility, Paterson, NJ.
  • First installation of a right-angle drive bulb hydropower turbine in North America at the Hackett Mills Project, Maine.
  • State of Virginia Energy Innovation Award for its innovative design of the Emporia Hydropower Station.
  • The Privatization Council Distinguished Project Award for the Synergics developed, designed, constructed, owned and operated Lahontan Dam Hydropower Project, Nevada, as an outstanding example of Public Sector/Private Sector Partnerships.
  • American Consulting Engineers Council Award for Synergics’ Wailuku River Hydropower Facility in recognition of Engineering Excellence, the first hydropower facility to be approved and built in Hawaii in over 70-years.
  • The U.S. National Hydropower Association’s highest award, the “Henwood Award”, was awarded to Synergics’ President for professional achievement in hydropower. He has also served as President of the National Hydropower Association and a past member of its Board of Directors.
